Primo Levi was an Italian writer who lived through the horrors of the Auschwitz concentration camp. Using several of his memoirs as a framework, this session presents Auschwitz from the point of view of an ordinary person. Questions: - How did those who were there cope with life in the camp? - "Why didn't you resist? Why didn't you run?" How did camp survivors respond to such accusations from others? - What was real life in the camp like? What forms did it take? - What other camp-like forms of life have existed in other societies?
