This week we make up for session 86, which was cancelled last time. This session will tell the story of the Jin dynasties and the Sixteen Kingdoms from Liu Kun's point of view. Questions to spark curiosity: Have you heard the story of "rising at cockcrow to practise the sword"? Who is its hero? Who were the "Five Barbarians" who threw China into chaos? Why did they cause such widespread upheaval? What collective memory does "Yongjia" stand for? Who was "the Guan Yiwu of the lands east of the Yangtze"? What did he contribute to the Eastern Jin? Where does Huan Wen's name come from? Questions for discussion in this session: How did Liu Kun, the "prodigal son", turn over a new leaf and devote himself to military and political affairs? What are Liu Kun's famous literary works? As the continuation of Liu Kun's legacy, what did his nephew Wen Jiao contribute to the Eastern Jin? What turmoil did the Eastern Jin go through before and after the Su Jun Rebellion?
