This session is given by Qian Li, president of the Taixuan Qin Society and a member of the Jiuge Poetry Society. Through an appreciation of the "Rhapsody on the Qin", we will glimpse Xi Kang's humanistic thought, give a brief introduction to the guqin and ritual court music, and explore together the way of the qin and poetry. Questions to get us thinking: Blacksmith? Poet? Qin player? Who was Xi Kang? Why is it said that "the qin is the foremost of all instruments"? Why was Guangling San not lost? Questions we will explore: What are the ideas behind the "Rhapsody on the Qin"? Can one attain the Way through music? Was Xi Kang's death inevitable?
